Can’t access the Betfair exchange in your country and wondering whether the Sharp Exchange is a viable alternative? Well, in this Sharp Exchange review, I will be showing you how it compares to Betfair and whether I think it’s a decent alternative!
By the end of this article, you will have a clear idea of what the Sharp Exchange is, how to access it, and whether it is right for you!
What is the Sharp Exchange?
The Sharp Exchange (formerly Orbit Exchange) operates with the same odds and liquidity as Betfair, but it is an entirely separate entity. It is a clone of Betfair, which means that it is affiliated with them but separate.
It was developed for users who want to access Betfair but live in a country where it does not operate.
So, how does the Sharp Exchange differ to the Betfair Exchange? Well, the two main ways they differ are the commission charged on winning bets, and the interface.
The other main difference is that you cannot apply for an account with the Sharp Exchange directly. You must use a betting broker/agent to access Sharp. Skip forward to find out which is the best betting broker for accessing Sharp.

Sharp Exchange Commission vs Betfair
Users of the Sharp Exchange are charged a flat 2.5% commission on all winnings. This is considerably lower than the standard 5% charged by Betfair. This allows you to save a lot of money if you are betting high stakes.
As with Betfair, you are not charged a commission when your bet loses.
Unlike Betfair, there are no premium charges applied if you consistently win. This is a big positive for profitable sports bettors.
Minimum Stake/Bet
Sharp has a minimum stake of just €6 on both back and lay bets.
Sports
You can bet on the following sports through Sharp.

Sharp Exchange Review - Features
I’ll now give you a look at the Sharp Exchange interface and explain how it works.
The Sharp Exchange has much the same look and feel as Betfair. Upon logging in, you can access a wide variety of sports from the left menu.
Once you choose a preferred sport, you can either see upcoming/live matches, or search for a match using the dedicated search function.

As you can see, the back and lay odds are presented in the same manner as the standard Betfair platform.

You can then back or lay a bet using the existing odds on the market, or make a bet request by setting your own odds.

Once you have placed a few bets, you can see your bet history, and a running profit/loss tally.

There are also some casino games including a live dealer section in addition to the sports betting exchange.

Sharp Exchange has pretty much all of the functionality that you would expect from Betfair, along with the same liquidity.
Sharp Exchange Cash Out
There is also a ‘cash out’ feature for bets that have already been matched. Here are the relevant details.

App
There is not currently an app for the Sharp Exchange, but you can access the site on a mobile device.
How to Access the Sharp Betting Exchange - Registration
As mentioned earlier, you cannot sign up for an account directly with Sharp, but you must use a betting broker/agent instead.
The best betting broker to use for this is BetInAsia. They are a very popular and well regarded betting broker. They can provide you with free and easy access to the Sharp Exchange.
They allow free deposits and 1 free withdrawal every 30 days via a wide variety of payment methods, ranging from Visa and Mastercard, Skrill and Neteller, to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

They can also provide you with access to a wide variety of other betting exchanges and bookmakers in addition to Betfair via their BetInAsia BLACK platform. For readers of The Arb Academy, all bets made through the BLACK platform will receive 0.1% cashback for life!
Make sure you enter the code 'ARBcashback' when registering for an account to be eligible for this!
They accept customers from all countries except for the USA, UK, France, Sweden, Turkey and Singapore.
This is great news for customers from Italy, Portugal and Germany (Deustchland) who cannot access Betfair. You can now access Sharp via BetInAsia.

Sharp Exchange Review (Betfair Clone) - Conclusion
The Sharp Exchange is a viable alternative for those who cannot access Betfair in their country.
With Sharp you can back and lay bets, as well as choose your own odds by placing bet requests. This can be done on a wide variety of sports, both pre-match and in-play.
The Sharp Exchange has a flat commission of just 2.5% on winning bets, which is lower than the standard retail Betfair commission. There are also no premium charges.
To access Sharp, you need to use a betting broker. I recommend BetInAsia as they have an excellent reputation, a wide variety of free payment methods, and allow 0.1% cashback (use the code 'ARBcashback' when signing up) on all bets placed through their BLACK platform!

same question as Gavrilo…is it possible to connect geekstoy to orbitxch? thanks christoph
Hi,
Is there any software like geekstoy or betangel to conect with orbitexchange?
Why in Orbit there are not odds in horse-racing side “LAY”?
Hi, this looks absolutely massive! Is there any way to get historical odds fluctuations like you can get from the Betfair portal? If all the odds and markets offered are the same as Betfair then no need for this question. Many thanks. Curry.
Hi Curry, I’m not 100% sure about that unfortunately! Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
Hello,
first of all congratulations for the article, you have been very clear.
But one question: how is it possible that orbit has the same liquidity as Betfair? From whom is the liquidity on Orbit provided? I mean, on Betfair liquidity is provided by customers (people registered on the platform) and by some market makers. On Orbit the liquidity is given only by some market maker or are the customers who use the platform able to generate liquidity equal to that of Betfair?
I don’t know if I was able to explain myself well and sorry if the english is not perfect but i am italian, I hope so.
thanks a lot
